I'm Marissa,

a new mom, wife and registered dietitian balancing a full-time career and motherhood while striving to stay healthy & happy.

I'm on a mission to help like-minded women find health and happiness in motherhood!

Mom life truly is the best life, but it’s also no joke! With my first baby, I went from career-driven, world traveler, health & wellness social butterfly to a housebound, sleep-deprived, poop covered, "too tired" for anything new mom. On top of that, my body felt totally different and I was utterly confused on what I was doing - was my baby drinking enough milk, when do I start pumping, how do I lose the baby weight, what workouts will heal my diastasis recti - you get the point, I was in total MOM SHOCK.

Even as an registered dietitian, I struggled in the first year knowing when, what and how to properly breastfeed, introduce solids to my little girl, or transition to a healthy toddler diet - and taking care of myself...HA, who has time for that with a new baby?! 

I BASICALLY LIVED OFF PIZZA AND ICE CREAM THAT FIRST YEAR!

It wasn’t long until my poor nutrition choices and frenetic new life took a toll on my health. I felt chronically weak, tired, and was constantly getting sick. During this special, fleeting time with my quickly growing baby, I felt utterly exhausted and knew I needed to make my health and nutrition a priority.

Marissa holds a bachelor of science in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, completed her dietetic internship in Phoenix, AZ, and holds a Masters of Science in Nutrition from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.

SO I WENT INTO ACTION MODE,

Researching anything and everything I could about nutrition and wellness for my baby and myself. I quickly realized that it didn’t need to be complicated, it didn’t need to be perfect, 

IT JUST NEEDED TO BE A PRIORITY.

Motherhood is truly the best gift out there, and I believe by making health & wellness a priority, we can achieve the energy and vibrancy to be the #momboss that lives within us! This is exactly what I aspire to provide through this website and community - simple tools, healthy tips and meaningful connections that nourish and inspire the journey of motherhood.
